| Santa Cruz is a geographically small area, but it has a wealth of excellent producers. This mountainous region is home to David Bruce, Ridge, J. Lohr, and Bonny Doon. This AVA(American Viticultural Area) is rich in microclimates and vintages can vary wildly. The relatively cool climate produces excellent Pinot Noirs and Ridge Montebello(call for availability) has outstanding Cabernets Sauvignons.

Bonny Doon The eccentric Randall Grahm is one of the more “interesting” characters in the California wine world. He is a master wine producer and originally was enamored with Pinot Noir but has since become a leader of the “Rhone Rangers” who are on a mission to bring Rhone Style wines to the U.S. He also makes a wide range of other products, for example his dessert wines; Framboise and Vin de Glaciere consistently receive rave reviews.
